No demo for Assassin’s Creed, but the game is damn huge

In a recent interview with Jade Raymond, the producer of Assassin’s Creed, she confirmed there would not be a demo for the game. According to Raymond, what makes a demo impossible is the way the game has been designed from the start. Since the game doesn’t have a series of linear missions, it’s impossible to ‘cut out’ a little part of one of the three huge cities that are in the game and present it as a demo.

Oh well. I guess considering the buzz this game has generated over the past year, Ubisoft won’t lose much in sales.

She also commented on the length of Assassin’s Creed – over the past months the game has been play tested extensively and without doing any optional missions, the game offers around 18 hours of play time. But if you take the time to dig deeper and enjoy the game as a whole, she promises up to 40 hours of gameplay, which I have to say, is a lot longer than I expected.
