While it was already known that a Unreal Engine 3-powered Mortal Kombat 8 was in the works at Midway for the 360 and PS3, Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3 tech site now lists a PC version as well.

There hasn’t been a Mortal Kombat game for PC since…hell I don’t even remember. So if and when a PC version is officially confirmed, you can be sure the news will go over real well with PC gamers. And hopefully it will be a game worth playing - Mortal Kombat 8 will reportedly re-invent the series and be “real serious,” according to Ed Boon (one of the two original designers still working on the franchise at Midway).

It will be a while until we find out though, the development is still at a stage where no screenshots or videos have been released. But there is a release month floating around that everyone seem to be sticking to for the moment - November 2008.
