PGR4 boosts 360’s sales by 400% in Japan
BY Rain Anderson Oct. 20th, 2007

Seems a lot of racing fans in Japan couldn’t wait until Grand Turismo 5 for their native console was finished and went ahead and bought a 360 to play Bizarre’s latest iteration in the PGR series - Project Gotham Racing 4. And there’s no reason why they shouldn’t have, PGR4 is a kick-ass game and a definite improvement over the already great PGR3 in both graphics and gameplay.

PunchJump reports: Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the Xbox 360 sold 6,161 units between Oct. 8 and Oct. 14. The hardware sold 1,547 units one week prior. PGR4 ranked as the No. 25 best-selling title for the week. Recent hit Halo 3 ranked at No 48 in the same period. The Xbox 360 held a rank of No. 6 in overall hardware sales, behind Nintendo Co.’s Wii and Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3.

Despite a 400% increase in sales, those numbers are hardly anything to brag about. But hey, it’s something.
