A few weeks ago, Pete Hines from Bethesda said they’re very close to working something out regarding making Shivering Isles, the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion expansion, available for PS3 in one form or another. They’ve now reached a point where it’s been decided that Shivering Isles for PS3 will be released as a standalone disc later next month.

To play Shivering Isles, you’ll need to own Oblivion itself and change discs three times apparently, which of course is not something to look forward to: “You’ll need to insert your original Oblivion disk to verify that you own the game. Afterwards, you will reinsert the Shivering Isles disk to play.”

The ‘M’ rated Shivering Isles for PS3 will be available on November 20th for $39.99.
