Because of Europe’s longer certification process, Epic Games’ VP Mark Rein doubts that the PlayStation 3 version of Unreal Tournament III will see a European release before next year.
“Right now we’re very close to a release candidate, and we should have it finished by the end of this week. Then we send it off and it’s just a matter of what happens from there.
We think there’s a very solid shot we’ll get out this year – I don’t know about Europe. Europe’s a problem because the certification process in Europe takes longer. They’re testing all these different languages in all these different countries, so I doubt it’ll be released this year in Europe. But I don’t know. We’ll have to cross our fingers and wait and see,” Rein told Eurogamer.
