PSP Lite in Japan: over 1 million sold

The new, slimmer and lighter PSP has sold over one million units during the two months it’s been available in Japan, Sony said today. Launched in Japan on September 20th, the new system is 33 percent lighter, 19 percent slimmer, features an added video out port and comes in a number of colors including Piano Black and Ceramic White.

It’s not enough to catch the unrivaled king of handhelds however - during the week of November 12th, the Nintendo DS sold 76,069 usits while Sony managed to sell 65,609 PSPs in the same period.
