A bunch of scans, apparently from Xbox World 360 magazine, have been posted on a forum that reveal a number of rather interesting and expected games that are being developed. Some of them were already known to be in development, like the next-gen Hitman and Tomb Raider games, and others have been downright obvious, like Gears of War 2 for example.
The scans have no actual screenshots from any of the games and reveal very little about them, but here’s what they say.
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 3 will continue the Mexico storyline and will get a new engine. The graphically outdated Agent 47 will get improved enemy AI and also a new engine for Hitman 5. Same goes for Tomb Raider 8 (aka Legend 2), it’s about time we see Lara in true next-gen glory.
Gears of War 2 has been painfully obvious from the start – the second game will have a longer and deeper campaign mode, deeper multiplayer experience, new executions, 4 player co-op, enhanced squad AI and true destructible cover.
Knights of the Old Republic 3 is developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the same company that made KOTOR2 and will arrive in 2009 along with two Alien games, one a first person shooter and the other an RPG.
A Star Wars first-person shooter and the rumored Elder Scrolls MMO were also mentioned but no actual info about the games were given.
It sure would be nice if all these end up being true. But since no announcements have been made yet for most of them, let’s file this under rumors and keep our fingers crossed.
