Microsoft to publish entire Mass Effect trilogy
BY Rain Anderson Dec. 12th, 2007

With the recent news of EA buying BioWare (the developer of Mass Effect), the future of the planned trilogy was in question. Will Microsoft stay on and publish the remaining two titles too or will EA step in on that front as well ?

According to an unnamed source cited in the new print issue of EGM, Microsoft will remain involved. Apparently an agreement has been reached for Mass Effect 2 and 3 to both be published by Microsoft, with BioWare and EA listed as developers.

The second Mass Effect is yet to be officially announced but considering the game has sold over a million copies in under three weeks, it’s only a matter time. We don’t expect it to happen until later next year though, considering Bioware’s Community Coordinator Chris Priestly recently said that the second game should be out in approximately two years. In the meanwhile though, we have the downloadable content to look forward to.
