Rumor: Microsoft’s Metal Gear Solid killer ?
BY Rain AndersonDecember 29th, 2007

Metal Gear Solid 4 is one of the biggest upcoming titles for the PS3 and is bound to sell a few systems for Sony. But if the rumor mill is to be believed, Microsoft has something up their sleeves.

According to a game blog based in India, Microsoft is in collaboration with a “highly talented studio” that is working on something “way better than Snake”. Their sources say that executives from Microsoft have recently seen a demo of the mysterious game in action and came away thoroughly impressed.

It’s not clear yet if the game is a FPS or a TPS since the studio is apparently having problems deciding whether to keep the game in a 1st or 3rd person perspective. But the core gameplay mechanics have been “somewhat finalized”.

The game will take place in the future and will incorporate major political events that have occurred in the last few years. The site also claims that the games’ visuals are better than anything anyone has seen so far from the PS3 camp. Now if that’s not the perfect bait for a heated battle between fanboys then I don’t know what is.

Be sure to treat this as nothing more than a rumor for now since the site doesn’t say who their source is and offers no proof whatsoever.

This is a bold way of striking - way to go MS! Xbox 360 gave birth to legendary games like Gears of War, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Assasin’s Creed, and Crackdown among others. This is what X360 needed - it has to be 3rd person! It can copy as much as possible from MGS - no shame - it should put in the best US script writers + story tellers together and make a game that not only looks better than any nexgen games, but has the most sophisticated, power full stories ever told! It’s about time Microsoft should push the limits of imagination and wipe out Sony, it’s about time X360 doesnt reamin as good as Playstation, but kills PS3 once and for all - this is Sony’s last stand…..

Well I feel Microsoft has already done that. For graphics, the machines are tied. Unlike fanboys believe, Sony doesn’t have anything out that would be better than games on the 360.

And as for story, I think Mass Effect has the best story of any game in the current generation. Every publication that gave the “Best Story of the Year” award to another game should be shut down imo. BioShock was great too but ME’s story is just so expansive and detailed that it puts every other game to utter shame. Hell, most of the side quests had better stories than 95% of the games this year.

oh and saquib, “this is Sony’s last stand” - hah! It’s only a year in to the console war, I’d hardly call it sony’s last stand, it’s not a hollywood film, jeeze.

Dificil veo que puedan hacer algo mejor que MGS, sino recuerden los que paso con Black.
