Xbox LIVE now 10 million strong, 360 brings in more cash than competitors
BY Rain Anderson Jan. 7th, 2008

During Microsoft’s CES event yesterday, Robbie Bach, President of Microsoft’s Entertainment & Devices Division, announced that Xbox LIVE has now passed the 10 million member mark. The company has achieved this goal six months faster than anticipated.

This comes after last Friday’s announcement that Microsoft has shipped 17.7 million units worldwide.

Bach also talked about total business numbers - in the US through November, Microsoft did $3.58 billion of business on Xbox 360. That’s a billion more than Nintendo did on the Wii and 2 billion more than Sony did on the PS3. Spend on Xbox 360 games was more than the spend on Wii and PS3 games combined.

“Our Xbox business is in a very very good place,” Bach added while clips of Halo 3, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and Madden NFL 08 started playing on the giant screen behind him.
