First Mirror’s Edge screenshots released
BY Rain AndersonJanuary 15th, 2008

Since its announcement last summer, we haven’t heard anything from EA DICE’s parkour-inspired first person action adventure called Mirror’s Edge. But it sure looks and sounds interesting enough to keep an eye on.

The developers have taken on the rather ambitious task of redefining what it means to play a game in the first person perspective. As Owen O’Brien, senior producer at EA DICE has said: “We want to change the way that players are able to move in first person. No more restrictions, no more being blocked by simple barriers such as walls and fences. We want to enable the player to move like a real person, with the ability to run, jump, vault and slide in a way that has never been seen before in a first person game.”

The jury is still out on gameplay but the first two screenshots have been released and as you can see from the image above, the game looks very nice indeed. Hit our Mirror’s Edge gallery to check out the full size image along with second image.

Mirror’s Edge should be available some time this year on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
