Civilization creator and industry veteran Sid Meier has recently talked with Australian game site Gameplayer about what to expect as the next game in the Civilization franchise — Civilization Revolution — arrives on the new consoles later this year.

One of the more interesting tidbits from the interview is Meier’s promise that Revolution “will deliver the best multiplayer gameplay we’ve ever offered in Civ”. Meier also said they’re “excited to take full advantage of everything online has to offer” and that we’ll be seeing lots of new content through Xbox LIVE — some free, some not — including gamer pictures, theme packs and their “Game of the Week” – a Firaxis created game map that will determine the “Best Civ Player in the World” each week.
