Ladies and Gentlemen, Call of Duty 4 has gone and done the unthinkable - it has dethroned Master Chief.

Xbox LIVE activity for week of January 14th shows that CoD4: Modern Warfare has taken the top spot among the most played games by unique users, forcing Master Chief to step down only four months after Halo 3’s release.

This little achievement for Activision illustrates quite nicely that their spot as the number one publisher in the US is well deserved.

Now, the interesting thing will be to see if Modern Warfare manages to repeat its victory next week or if Master Chief was simply having an off week.
