System 3, the developers of Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, announced today that their game will not only be for the PS3, Wii, and Nintendo DS, but also on the PS2. This racing sim, featuring 50 different Ferraris and Ferrari Challenge trace tracks, will be released in Spring 2008. The PS2 will match the PS3 game in regards to the game’s features. The game will also have online multiplayer for up to 8 racers at a time.
System 3 CEO Mark Cale says that the decision to make the game for the PS2 as well was because they wanted this game to reach as many gamers as possible, and they felt that a PS2 version was important for that to happen.
The Xbox 360 and namely Xbox LIVE is definitely more widely popular than the PS3 or PlayStation Network, so I’m curious why they did not consider developing this title for the Xbox 360 as a solution to reaching the most possible gamers out there?
