According to their website, Child’s Play Charity, the game-centric charity, has raised 1.3 million dollars worth of donations in 2007. Since its inception in 2003, the organization has raised over $2 million dollars worth of toys, games, books, cash, and other items for sick kids in children’s hospitals throughout North America, and the world.

In partnership with over 45 children’s hospitals, and dozens of industry leaders such as Insomniac, Bungie, Harmonix, and others, Child’s Play is helping to make the lives of sick kids a little bit easier, one donation at a time.

The concept is simple yet brilliant!

Basically, you go to their website and choose a hospital you’d like to donate to. Click on a controller that represents that hospital at which point you’ll be redirected to Amazon.com, where you are shown a list of what the hospital you chose needs. Anything from games, and books, to cameras, and DVD’s. You buy the item on Amazon, and have it shipped directly to the hospital of your choice. That’s all there is to it! You can also donate cash, via PayPal if you so desire. And all of your donations are tax-refundable, just ask them for a receipt.
