During his DICE Summit keynote speech, Electronic Arts’ CEO John Riccitiello said that the games he’s currently playing include their very own Burnout Paradise, 2K Games’ BioShock, Valve’s Portal, and the yet to be released Spore. Riccitiello says he’s become “fixated” on Spore and thinks EA has probably taken the biggest creative risk in the industry by taking on the development of the title, but at the same time believes Spore will become one of the greatest franchises in the industry and will rival even World of Warcraft and The Sims.

Considering that Will Wright is at the helm, and the overwhelmingly positive response from the journos so far, I’m sure they have nothing to worry about. But regardless of what happens, Riccitiello says that EA is 100% behind the Spore team and that they will live and fall together.
