Mario and Friends Smash the Charts in Japan!

We knew in the first week that Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii was a success. According to VG Chartz it sold 842,536 units in Japan, and seems to still have momentum selling over 300,000 copies this week, charting number 1 for the second week in a row. Which of course means that Brawl has sold over a million copies in just under 2 weeks.

No small feat given the rumors of possible shortages and pre-orders unfilled. It seems Nintendo got it together just in time. With not a whole lot on the horizon here in the next couple months, don’t expect to see Mario dropping from the top spot anytime soon.
