Patiently waiting PC gamers will be getting some more advancements over the console versions of Assassin’s Creed when the game arrives on PC’s in about a month. Next to gameplay additions that more than double the amount of investigations the player can perform as Altair, the PC version will also include DX10 capabilities. Don’t get too excited yet though - the addition of DX10 does not bring any visual advances with it. It merely makes the game run much better on Windows Vista than its DX9 counterpart.

Charles Beauchemin, the technical lead on the PC version of Assassin’s Creed: “Most of the porting to DX10 involves optimizations of the existing calls, without any new content.”

But considering the rather steep system requirements, this is certainly good news for slightly older hardware. Besides, Assassin’s Creed already looks magnificent anyway.
