The original Condemned: Criminal Origins had gamers sucked into the horrific world of character Ethan Thomas, a cop framed for murder and trying to find the real killer. On March 14th, Monolith studios is releasing Condemned 2: Bloodshot, which promises to be more gruesome, longer, and more intense than the first. This installment begins when Thomas brutally assaults another bar patron and is tossed out into the street. The once respected hero has gone through some tough (and medicated) times since the serial killer named Vanhorn had stolen his life.

Everything has been overhauled in this game. Melee feels better and less stale than before and finishing moves on the homeless and criminally insane are more brutal than before. Throwing a vagrant’s head through a television after taking half your health is definitely more satisfying than just punching his lights out. The gritty, disturbing underworld has never looked better. Discarded trash, ominous sounds and using whatever you can find for a weapon are all back to turn your hair white.

Since the first installment is cheap (like 15 bucks) pick that up first before the next installment becomes available on March 14th. Come that day, there are going to be a lot of people staying up at night repeating “it’s only a game, it’s only a game.”
