Dark Sector Wasn’t Running Smooth On PS3?

So it turns out that Dark Sector wasn’t running so good on the PS3 until recently. Josh Austin, producer for Digital Extreme went on record saying: “So, yeah, this is the PS3 version, umm… it looks just as good as the 360 version, which we’re happy about. Towards the end we started having some serious conversations about what we were gonna do, uh, but we ended up pulling it off, so we’re very proud of that.”

Now that last part turns this statement into near irrelevancy. The man said everything is beyond fine now. But as a whole this seems to follow the trend that developers tend to have a harder time getting their games to run well on the PS3. This is an argument with many sides, one with the 360 being out longer than the PS3 and thus developers have had more time with the system. But surely by now — over a year after the launch of Sony’s system — this shouldn’t even remotely be an issue anymore?

Beats the hell out of me, I don’t get paid to shade pixels, or run game code, so your guess is as good as mine. But I still find it a bit “suspect” that this is even still an issue.
