Big Things Coming For PS3, Sony UK President Says

Sony Computer Entertainment UK president Ray Maguire recently took the time to clue everyone in on a couple things regarding PS3’s future.

First off he wanted to point out that PS3 recently selling through a million units in the UK was a feat achieved quite a bit quicker than its older brothers (PS1 & PS2). Ray said that this was “even more gratifying considering PS3 is a premium product introduced at a premium price.”

He also added: “Our momentum will continue with the introduction of in-game communication in the summer, firmware update 2.4 and the strongest line-up of games through our third party partners and our own studios.”

With most of Microsoft’s heavy hitters already out the door (that we know of), Sony’s games seem to be getting the most attention right now. The summer basically belongs to Sony, but one has to wonder: what else does this “strongest line-up of games” consist of other than Haze (March release), LittleBigPlanet (September release) and Killzone2 and Resistance2, both of which are set for a late ‘08 release ? Rumor has it MotorStorm 2 will be unveiled this week. But what else ? Let the speculation begin!
