Ready at Dawn calls it quits on PSP

There’s an old saying that goes something like: “If you’re going to call it quits, it’s better to quit at the top of your game,” and Ready at Dawn appears to be ready to do just that by stepping away from development on Sony’s PSP. Developers of the successful and highly acclaimed Daxter and the recently released God of War: Chains Of Olympus have decided to stop developing for the PSP.

Ru Weerasuriya, the director of God of War for PSP recently told Next-Gen that he hopes other developers can step their game up on the PSP but “as for us, our work on the PSP has come to an end. But who knows, we might come back to it in the future if the right oppourtunity arises.”

And what better way to go out? God of War: Chains of Olympus is currently enjoying a Metacritic rating of 93, and is sure move some units. As for for Ru’s comments on Ready at Dawn possibly developing again on the PSP? I’m guessing he may be hinting at future publishers to show Ready at Dawn the money.
