Over at Gamespot they’ve had some hands-on time with High Moon studios’ take on Robert Ludlum’s Bourne novels, and they seem pretty impressed with the visual style and game play mechanics. From the fast paced hand-to-hand action, to the outrageous car chases you have come to expect from Bourne, everything seems to be shaping up quite nicely. Gamespot even went as far as to compare its quality to that of the movies.
“The Bourne Conspiracy looks just like a Bourne movie, making it as fun to watch as it is to play. And, if you think about it, that is quite an accomplishment. After all, the Bourne movies aren’t just action movies, they’re some of the best action movies ever made.”
I have to say I’m pretty excited to play it, it looks like High Moon has put a lot of time and care into crafting the game, even going as far as enlisting screen writer Tony Gilroy to add all the twists and turns we have come to expect from a Bourne tale. With only one game under their belt High Moon has a bit to prove, and has picked a genre that is better known for its failures then it is for its triumphs. Hopefully The Bourne Conspiracy will follow in the footsteps of games like The Chronicles of Riddick, rather than The Chronicles of Narnia.
