Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer coming to PS3

Developer Eastasiasoft revealed its plans to bring their PC side-scroller, Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer, to the PS3 via the PlayStation Network. The game’s homepage (soldner-x.com) projects a 2008 release for the gorgeous shooter. Being the premiere title from Eastasiasoft, Himmelsstürmer offers white-knuckle action in the vein of classic “bullet hell” titles like Ikaruga and Xevious.

Is your German rusty? Loosely translating to “Sky Storms,” Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer is not your typical 2-D blastfest. The title boasts 12 stages across four worlds, rendered in beautiful 720p resolution at 60 fps. Varying weather effects and fluid animation make Söldner-X a sight to behold. Suicidal boss fights and a strategic upgrade system add a layer of depth to the already hectic firefights and online score boards and loads of extras make Söldner-X a total package. Eastasiasoft’s first effort will find a good home on the PSN.
