The 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational will be held in Paris, France this year if you haven’t already heard and tickets will be on sale starting March 20th for 70 € / £55 (equivalent to $110 U.S.). The Worldwide Invitational is a two day event that brings together Blizzard’s developers and gamers for a slew of activities such as discussion panels, game tournaments, contests, live music, and much more.

Blizzard will be showcasing their upcoming World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King and Starcraft II, both are also playable at the event. Despite some old rumors, it is entirely certain that they will not be unveiling anything new, such as World of Starcraft or Diablo 3, even though there have been signs pointing to the possibility of such titles entering the development stage. We can bet that Blizzard will be focusing all attention on the two titles at hand and not unveiling anything new for quite a while, possibly not until some time next year at the very earliest. Their plate will already be especially full with the highly anticipated release of Starcraft II.
