Pirates vs. Ninjas delayed thanks to irony
BY Matthew RazakApril 10th, 2008 More on:

Take a guess why Blazing Lizard’s Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball is being delayed. Come on, you can get it. Why is Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball being delayed? That’s right! Because of pirates! A game with pirates in it is being delayed because of pirates. Laugh, damn it! This is comic gold here.

Alright, maybe it isn’t that funny but Christopher Stockman, Studio Director at Blazing Lizard is taking it in stride: “We see the irony in all this. Rest assured, we have a crack team of Ninjas on the case and hunting down all pirates. On the positive side it gives us a chance to go back and add in additional content to the game.”

OK, the bad joke is over, you can stop not laughing now. Gamecock and Blazing Lizard were just having a little fun with their press release and wanted to make up an excuse for releasing the game later. Those guys and their jokes.

The game, gaming out on XBLA and PSN, will be delayed until later in Spring. This will allow the developers to add more content that isn’t on the pirated copies…which don’t exist. What more could a game featuring teams of pirates, ninjas, zombies and robots playing dodgeball possibly have? Well a few new game modes won’t hurt, will it? The team is adding a mode that follows the rules of traditional dodgeball more closely in addition to the game’s original mode which was a bit more of a free fall. The more ways for these arch rivals to battle it out the better, is what I always say. You know, because this situation comes up so often.
