Faking the Band - A Question of Semantics [4/15/08]
BY Jason R. Wallace Apr. 14th, 2008 More on:

No one really knows what “classic rock” means. Sure, when pressed, your average listener could rattle off a few bands that might qualify: Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Who.

But, depending on the person questioned, you might also get a Guns N’ Roses or Nirvana or even John Mellencamp.

The point is that “classic rock” is a pretty nebulous term. But don’t let a little thing like semantics stop you from enjoying the upcoming “Classic Rock Pack” for Rock Band. You might think that the likes of Blondie, Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Police are nowhere near as pervasive or aged enough to be “classic,” but when you’re playing some tasty licks and thundering beats, who cares?

Classic Rock Pack [160 MS points per song / 440 for pack]

  • “Call Me” - Blondie [MASTER]
  • “Message in a Bottle” - The Police [MASTER]
  • “Simple Man” - Lynyrd Skynyrd [MASTER]

This pack will hit the Xbox LIVE Marketplace on Tuesday, April 15. PlayStation 3 rockers will have to wait until Thursday, however, when this pack and the last two weeks of Rock Band content will accompany the revamped PS Store’s debut.
