WiiWare getting SPOGS Racing
BY Rain Anderson Apr. 17th, 2008 More on:

Teaching your grandmother to play Gran Turismo is tough. Believe me, I have tried. But as much as I would like to drag race with nanna, she still prefers knitting. Now, the opportunity to compete in head to head racing with your family and friends is presenting itself once again. DSC Games’ SPOGS Racing will be available for download on Nintendo’s WiiWare very soon, and will no doubt capture the hearts and minds of casual and hardcore gamers alike.

You will be able to race along in unique SPOGS Racing that can be personalized, customized and modified with various images and vehicle parts. The game will have 12 different tracks that are full of with loops, jumps, weapons and special power-ups that will help you get the edge you need in order to finish first. And of course, split screen mode will be available to show your granny how its done.

  • Action-Oriented Racer: Experience full throttle arcade action featuring intuitive controls for pick-up-and-play racing.
  • Crash ‘N Grab: Crash into your opponent, take them out and grab their parts on-the-fly. Upgrade your ride with new engines, tires, tailpipes and brakes for the ultimate tricked-out SPOGS Racer. But, be careful, it’s a two way street!
  • Stunt Tracks and Bonus Points: Outrageous stunt tracks feature huge loops and monster jumps for big air. Rack up bonus points and race points for the ultimate high score!
  • Head-to-Head Multiplayer: Take on your buddy and go head-to-head in split screen action. Compete for ultimate bragging rights and steal each others’ parts in Battle Mode featuring Crash ‘N Grab™.

According to D2C Games founder and CEO Scott Orr, the SPOGS Racing’s best feature will be fun itself. “As a long-time game designer, I’ve learned that there’s one defining factor behind a successful game – is it fun?” he said. “That question directs our entire strategy at D2C, and SPOGS Racing is a great example of that commitment.” Oh, that’s it. You’re going down, Grandma!
