Mario Kart Wii snakes top sales spot in Japanese charts

Mario Kart Wii hit the ground running (or tires spinning) in Japan and, according to data from Media Create, has moved 594,000 units since its release a week ago. Capcom’s Monster Hunter 2nd G came in at second after selling nearly a million units upon its release with a respectible 222,000 sold, pushing its current umbers to 1,590,000.

With those two games dominating the top spots one might wonder how the rest of the competition fared? Well Wii Fit (ranked 4th in sales) tallied up 31k, while Deca Sporta (9th) and Super Smash Bros. Brawl (10th) moved 17k and 14k. Full top10 after the jump.
