Zenses: coming to a spa near you
BY Luke Walker Apr. 19th, 2008 More on:

Hey guys, are you looking for a gateway to get your lady into videogames? Better yet: ladies, would you be interested in a virtual spa—a tool to help you transcend the stresses of everyday life, unplug and experience an “active escape?” Well, The Game Factory is looking to fill that need with Zenses, a series of games for the Nintendo DS targeting casual gaming women 25 years and older.

The first two games announced for the series are Zenses Ocean and Zenses Rainforest. Each game is designed for casual play and offers a collection of six easy to pick up puzzle/brain games. Zenses is controlled entirely with the stylus and includes ambient sounds and tracks created to give players as escape from the stress of everyday life. As the player progresses they will unlock codes used to unlock the music for download at GameFactoryGames.com for free.

Zenses Ocean is inspired by the tide, rippling water, reefs and corals, beach vegetation and beach life. Expect high quality visuals while enjoying games like Hot Spot, Shell Twirl, Turtle Turn, Pearl Diver and Wave Breaker.

Zenses Rainforest allows players to explore the Amazon while playing games infused with rain drops, exotic flowers, waterfalls and giant trees (I guess fire ants and piranhas got left out). Games in this version include Sapphire Wheel, Mirror Maze, Stack Jack and Bumble Breaker.

Both games will also have wi-fi features, allowing players to interact with each other online, posting their scores and comparing rank using an online leader board. While Zenses sounds great, this is the only feature that puzzled me. What’s so relaxing about competing?

I’d like to try that game to see if it will really calm me and take me out of anger management eventually :)

Yeah, it seems pretty vegerific, but after checking it out I’d still have to play Flow on my PSP to take the edge off. For anger management have you considered Smash Brothers Brawl? ;)
