Harry Potter going after the Half-Blood Prince
BY Rain AndersonApril 22nd, 2008 More on:

This fall, fans of Harry Potter will be getting yet another double dose of magic. EA has announced Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which will be available in time to coincide with the film of the same name.

Players will control the boy man wizard during his tumultuous sixth year at The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This entails engaging in wizard duels, concocting potions, and competing in Gryffindor Quidditch tournaments. While journeying towards discovery of the identity of the Half-Blood Prince, there will also be an opportunity to make time with the ladies of Hogwarts.

For those who may be skeptical about yet another game fashioned after a movie, Scott Johnson from WB Interactive Entertainment offers some reassuring words: “Working with EA, we look forward to offering fans a compelling Harry Potter video game, one which captures the thrilling storyline and high visual quality of the movie. The adherence to the rich fiction is a trademark of this franchise and with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince fans will experience the most authentic and enjoyable game in the series to date.”

The game is being developed by EA Bright Light Studio, the team behind previous Harry Potter games, and, in standard EA fashion, will be available for every imaginable system (Wii, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, DS, PC, Mac and mobile).
