Dragon Quest Swords makes PAL debut in May
BY Luke Walker Apr. 24th, 2008 More on:

Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors will finally be making its way to PAL territories on May 9. Japan and North America have been enjoying this Wii exclusive sword swinger for a few months now.

John Yamamoto, president and CEO of Square Enix commented, “We are excited to be bringing Dragon Quest Swords to PAL territories. The Dragon Quest series is an international hit having sold over 43 million units worldwide, but is still relatively new to Europe. We hope that Dragon Quest Swords will find a place in the hearts of everyone.”

Unlike past Dragon Quest games, Dragon Quest Swords is a first person experience where the player uses the Wii remote and Nunchuk combo as sword and shield to physically slice and stab opponents or block their attacks. The new international version also includes revised gameplay, offering a more intense and challenging experience.

Dragon Quest Swords may walk off the beaten track, but it’s a Dragon Quest game through and through. Also, series creator Yuji Horii, manga artist Akira Toriyama (creator of Dragon Ball) and renowned composer Koichi Sugiyama were all back to make it a true Dragon Quest experience.
