Nintendo price cuts? Yeah right…
BY Jeremy Hill Apr. 25th, 2008 More on:

Nintendo is the kind of company you wouldn’t want to have over to play Monopoly with. You just can’t beat them. The same seems to go for real life as well. Nintendo has been absolutely dominating the videogame scene this generation. According to the March ‘08 NPD numbers, the DS and Wii sold over 1.4 million units combined. Compare that to 770,000 units from all three of Sony’s platforms combined. Plus, Super Smash Brothers Brawl was the top selling game of last month.

As far as a price drop goes, Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo says, ” Our earnings projection for the year is not based on hardware price cuts, and I don’t think we are going to need them.”

That basically means they make too much money on hardware to drop the prices. Can’t say I blame them. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go buy a Wii and a Donkey Kong face plate for my DS.
