Quake Wars coming to consoles in May
BY Steve Gilhool Apr. 26th, 2008 More on:

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars for the PC saw some fierce competition when it dropped last October. Luckily, its teamwork-focused take on multiplayer - players receive points for completing individual objectives which contribute to the team’s overall objective - was enough to distinguish it in a crowd of amazing shooters. Now we shall see how that action translates to the consoles.

Though the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions were unveiled a while back, id Software announced just last week that both versions will hit North America on the 27th of May, and Europe and Australia on the 30th. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are being handled by developers Underground and Nerve Software, respectively.

Though Enemy Territory has its origin on the PC side, it could be a really good fit for consoles. Call of Duty 4 stalwarts should certainly appreciate the persistent character development, while Team Fortress 2 players will appreciate the five different classes, and the missions and objective designed to take advantage of their unique skills. Meanwhile, just about everyone should enjoy the variety of badass weapons, useful deployables and monstrous vehicles.
