Exclusive scenes to be found in Prince Caspian game
BY Luke WalkerMay 1st, 2008 More on:

Gamers in general mistrust games based on movies, and for good reason — most of them are no good. Pehaps then this is why Disney is offering some incentives to buy The Chronicles of Naria: Prince Caspian. They’ve announced that the movie-based game will include two exclusive live action scenes which were shot specifically for the game.

The two original scenes, part of 18 live action moments in the game, link The Lion, The Which and The Wardrobe and Prince Caspian stories with Dr. Cornelius (Vincent Grass) telling Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes) the story of how Narnia fell to the Telmarines hundreds of years ago. This back story takes place in a new gameplay level that isn’t in the movie or the book. It all unfolds at the castle of Cair Paravel before it fell to the Telmarine hordes. In the movie and book, Cair Paravel is seen only as abandoned ruins the Pevensie children discover hundreds of years later.

Ed Bainbridge, vice president of European production, Disney Interactive Studios: “The close partnerships we maintain with our film division and Walden Media allowed us to utilise the cast, crew and set to create two unique scenes exclusively for the video game. These entertaining and memorable scenes enable us to portray a part of the Narnia history that is drawn from the fiction and played out in the game.”

Developed by Traveller’s Tales, Prince Caspian is an action/adventure game featuring drop-in/drop-out cooperative gameplay with over 20 playable characters. It will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation 2 and Windows-based PC on June 20, a full week before the film hits theaters. A separate Nintendo DS version will also be available.
