The Wii remote and Nunchuck combo is one of the greatest control schemes I have personally ever experienced. But it has also been a nightmare when playing games like Wii Boxing for example. There have been a number products released that (kind of) deal with the problem but finally, an acceptable solution has arrived — Nyko’s award-winning Kama Wireless Nunchuck — which allows players to duel wield without any cord at all — has shipped nationwide in the US.
No special software or installation is needed. Simply plug in the dongle into the bottom of the Wii remote, turn on the Wireless Nunchuck and you’re good for 3 meters of wireless connectivity.
Nyko’s Wireless Nunchuck has full accelerometer support for motion based gameplay, making it 100% compatible with all games that use the Nunchuck. It boasts 30 hours of gameplay off two AAA batteries (included), an ergonomic design for left or right handed play and includes a wrist strap for security.
While it is surprising that Nintendo didn’t bother to come out with its own wireless Nunchuck first, this could be a good thing. Nintendo does need more third party support after all and Nyko’s Kama Wireless Nunchuck looks to be well worth the $34.99 price tag. Wireless Boxing here I come!
