Set the price and expectations accordingly
Making a good Wii game is no guarantee of great sales, the same was also true of the PS2 and PSX before it. Boom Blox, the brainchild of Steven Spielberg, is an excellent block puzzler that retails for $50 and has so far seen slow sales. While EA sees the game as a big-budget blockbuster, consumers see a straightforward Jenga-like game retailing for full price, even with Steven Spielberg’s name on the cover. There is a clear difference in perception between how the consumer and EA value Boom Blox that has caused a relative success to be regarded as a failure.
