Why Alone in the Dark for PS3 got delayed
BY Jeremy Hill Jun. 2nd, 2008 More on:

The past month had a good amount of details surrounding Atari’s last single-player title Alone in the Dark. But as what seems to be commonplace for multiplatform games, the PS3 version has been pushed back. Alone in the Dark’s senior producer Nour Polloni spoke with VideoGamer.com at one of the games press events in London explaining what’s going on with the PS3 version of the game.

“There’s no firm date yet but what we can say is that it’s coming out this year. In terms of why it’s coming out later, we have the full game running on PS3 and all the features, no problem,” Polloni said. “The thing is it’s not performing as well on PS3 as we hope it is in terms of frame rate and all that. We didn’t want it to come out and have less of an experience for the PS3 gamer. We wanted to tweak that up and make sure they get the best experience on PS3 as much as possible.”

Whether the delay is the result of working with the PS3’s infamous Cell processor is yet to be known. The Xbox 360, PC, Wii and PS2 versions, along with the Limited Editions, are still on point for a late June release in North America and Europe.

      what a surprise.

Any game that’s PC developed will always run well on the 360 and like crap on the PS3.

Blame the cell & it’s stubborn Frankenstein design. “Supercomputer” my ass. It’s a gimp CPU that’s really a stream video processor.
