Will Wii Fit work? Week 2
BY Matthew Razak Jun. 7th, 2008 More on:

This isn’t to say that Wii Fit is some great big evil thing. I just think it is a bit misguided in some of the ways it presents itself. I’d also like to see some more structured workouts. I go through each exercise once but if there was a guide to reps and which ones to do each day or something that would be nice, as it is I don’t know if I should be doing one thing more and another less.

But I am exercising and getting in better shape. Most of the exercises have become easier and the stupid push-ups/planks are finally starting to not absolutely destroy me and only partially wreck me. Also of note is that my girlfriend, who was and is in much better shape than I has started using it. At first a major naysayer of the whole thing she’s actually come to enjoy a lot of it and even she, a pretty avid gym goer says it is actually a great core workout.

So how is my workout going? Well, visually I don’t think I’ve changed that much but I know that physically I feel a whole ton better and my back has been hurting less. My weight is finally back down after that memorial day five pounds I gained and I think I’ve found my body’s natural weight at the moment. I’ve sort of plateaued off with my weight going up or down a pound each day. I think once I bust through this I should start losing a bit faster and if I keep up the schedule I have I’ll be running a lot more, so hopefully that will help. My girlfriend has also noted that my legs look more muscular but you can’t see them because they aren’t in the picture and changing it now would be terribly unscientific. Here are the stats:

Go Matthew. Soon you will look like that man in the boat, who is obviously not you. No way.

Am I to assume that you will smile in your shots once you start experiencing more pronounced loss?

Smiling is for the weak! Tough in shape people don’t smile!

Matt, you are a sexy beast. Don’t let all that good posture keep you from leaning. And I agree that it’s stupid that WiiFit makes you weigh yourself everyday. In shape or not, your weight can easily fluctuate day to day.
