BioShock trilogy confirmed without confirmation
BY Mike Wehner Jun. 8th, 2008 More on:

A big trend in the world of gaming companies is confirming titles by some pretty unconventional means. Posting job openings for the development of a specific title is a popular way of letting the world know you’re working on a game, without having to go through the trouble of writing up an official press release. Another common technique was recently utilized by Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick when he let his investors know that the upcoming BioShock movie wouldn’t be ready the release of BioShock 2 … but would probably make it in time for BioShock 3.

That’s right, BioShock 3. It hasn’t even been that long since the confirmation of BioShock 2’s existance, and we already have word of a trilogy. No system or specifics were let go regarding the title, but seeing as BioShock 2 is rumored to be a prequel it would seem likely that the third game will take place after the events of the original title… but that’s just speculation on my part.

BioShock 2 was confirmed to be in development by 2K Marin, who is taking over for Irrational, the house that produced the original title. No word on where the third game will be born and raised, but at the current rate of pre-mature information leaks, those details are sure to be out before too long.
