Celebrate Father’s Day like the hobbits do — online in Middle-earth

Most of us would be lucky to get just a few hours of gaming in on Father’s Day, since we’re usually busy shopping for that last minute gift for dear old dad or eating that burnt breakfast in bed our kids made. Codemasters Online are inviting fathers across the UK to spend those precious few hours celebrating in Middle-earth.

This Sunday, June 15 — Father’s Day for those that forgot — The Lord of the Rings Online will offer several in-game activities to celebrate the day with. There will be father and sons fishing, music, fireworks and ad hoc competitions and challenges all day.

“What better way to celebrate Father’s Day than spend it with your loved ones in the greatest fantasy world ever created?” finds David Solari, Vice President of Codemasters Online. “We invite fathers to come and enjoy the festivities that will we be running all day to mark this special occasion.”

Extra trinkets will be given away as well if you’re lucky enough to run into the community team’s Liquilla, Satine, Faya or Amaurea who will be wondering around enjoying the party.

The festivities are open to old and trial accounts alike, so if you don’t have an account and are interested, the trial is available for download at trylotro.com. For more information, pay attention to the in-game announcements throughout the day on the English-speaking servers.
