Spore Creature Creator as free demo
BY Luke WalkerJune 17th, 2008 More on:

It’s finally here, June 17. If that doesn’t mean anything to you then you’re not among the many of us who have been waiting for the Spore Creature Creator demo since we heard about it in April. What’s more to get excited about? It’s free!

As of today gamers can go to Spore.com and download the 205MB demo of the Creature Creator featuring about 25% of the creature making fun of the full version. Still, that is enough to really go hands on for the first time and see what this part of the game is really about, like the above video shows.

The demo version is meant to really get the creativity going allowing gamers to share ideas easily. Besides sharing pictures and videos of your creations with friends, you can also put those same pictures and video online by uploading to the Sporepedia at Spore.com or to the special Spore channel on YouTube.

“Today is the day we begin to see Spore come to life,” said executive producer and general manager of Maxis, Lucy Bradshaw. So share and bounce ideas off of each other because the great team behind Spore will be watching. “Our team will be excitedly keeping an eye on the Sporepedia to check out creations made by players from around the world.”

The full Creature Creator will soon be out as a pre-order incentive from the EA Store and other select retailers. Creatures made in the trial versions can be imported directly into your Spore game, which will be released this year for PC, Mac, Nintendo DS and mobile phones on September 5 in Europe and September 7 in North America and Asia.
