McCain of Honor…
BY Thom DinsdaleJune 23rd, 2008 More on:

A recent commercial (above) for Republican Presidential hopeful John McCain featured music, apparently unbeknownst to campaign planners, lifted conveniently from original score of Medal Of Honor: European Assault. Surely thats good news for the composer, that he captured the gratiuitous, chest beating patriotism that the series (and the republicans) are known for, right? Wrong! As it turns out, the composer is a strong and outspoken supporter of the Democratic candidate Barack Obama.

When questioned on how this mix-up came about the composer, Christopher Lennertz told GamePolitics, “It turns out that there was a mix-up as to which company controlled the rights to the music. The McCain campaign did nothing illegal. I do think however, that they should have checked to see if the creators of content that they are using to promote their views are in fact in sync with them.”

Needless to say, it has got to hurt as an artist to see your work being used to perpetuate something you personally oppose.
