Faking the Band - Here comes your…Weezer? [6/24/08]
BY Jason R. WallaceJune 24th, 2008 More on:

Faking the Band is a weekly feature detailing the latest in downloadable content for Rock Band.

Gather round, ye faithful, for the ascension of Doolittle is upon us! Our illustrious prophet Sean proclaimed that fourteen Pixies tracks would arrive this day in resplendent glory, and his words have come true! Praise the Rock Band elders and their otherworldly foresight! This is truly a time of pure joy and celebration. Bring forth the Great Instruments, and let us rock to our fullest!

But what is this? Another gift from beyond? Huzzah! The great ones have seen fit to bless us twofold! Magical melodies from Weezer’s Red Album make us overjoyed. Infinite gratitude, oh great ones! We are truly the chosen people of the digital realm!

We shall sing your praises, and we shall rejoice, playing our new tracks for eternity! Or at least until they start to bore us!

Ah, The Pixies! Here Comes Your Man is truly nostalgic for me, as it was one of the first songs I learned on my (real) guitar.

I started seriously listening to the Pixies because I liked playing “Wave of Mutilation” so much!

So no nostalgia for me, but certainly a metric ton of enthusiasm.
