Hold onto your valuables and keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times, the rumor rollercoaster is about to launch — Diablo fans all over the internet are whipping up into a firey tornado of gossip and speculation in anticipation of an announcement that is expected to come out of Blizzard’s Worldwide Invitational (which as of writing is currently down) event this weekend regarding what many are hoping (and praying) will be the official announcement of Diablo 3.
The source of all this is a Diablo flavored teaser image which appeared on Blizzard’s European website (which is also down for the count) that many are taking as a hint of what’s to come. Diablo 3, the hypothetical third installment in the cult franchise, has been on the “desperately want” list of many gamers for many years and as of yet there has been little to no word from Blizzard as to whether they’d even consider it.
These high hopes have pushed higher by the fact that the prevous two Invitationals bore announcements regarding StarCraft 2 (another sequel that fans had been clamouring about for time innumeral) and WoW: Burning Crusade. The only question is, does Blizzard want to make it a hat-trick?

If this is true then I’ll have to dredge up some old friends to go on a few more epic Diablo quests. Multiplayer was killer in Diablo II.

I first played Diablo II in an internet cafe with my friends. They were all killing Azriel (I think) at the end of act one and I was a level 6 sorceress. Memories…

Diablo was great and I would love a sequel. Do you think they’ll let us play as a killer cow?
