Major Minor’s Majestic March, new screens and details

Oh, where to go with this post. I could make an easy Music Man reference or possibly dive into a Catch 22 one that only Joseph Heller and I would get, but maybe I’ll just tell you why you should even be reading about what looks like one of the most disgustingly cute piece of crap games ever made. This game is being made by Masaya Matsuura and famed New York artist Rodney Alan Greenblat, the same guys who made Parappa the Rapper. See, now you’re looking at those screenshots and thinking how wonderfully artistic and awesome they are, aren’t you?

Since Parappa the Rapper was one of the best rythm games out there, Major Minor’s has a high pedigree to live up to. In the game you’ll use the Wii remote as band conductor Major Minor’s baton to keep tempo, recruit new band members and pick up valuable items. The game looks relatively simple but when you take into account that you can have 15 different instruments that you arrange in your band and you have to keep them all in tempo while also a avoiding the general hazards of marching, it sounds like the game is going to have some really deep musical aspects which would be right on par for Masaya Matsuura. The game is slated for a holiday release this year. The real question is can anyone guess what my Catch 22 reference was going to be?
