CoD: World at War goes mobile
BY Thom DinsdaleJune 27th, 2008 More on:

Mobile soldiers of the world rejoice! Glu Mobile have announced that they’ll be extending their license with Activision to bring the next installment of the Call of Duty franchise, World at War, to mobiles. The mobile version of the game, which is being developed and will be eventually published by Glu, will be spun off onto major mobile formats some time around the release of the “real” World at War later this year.

Jill Braff, senior vice president of global publishing at Glu said, “We’re excited to extend our partnership with Activision and bring Call of Duty: World at War to mobile gamers worldwide. The Call of Duty franchise has been a great addition to Glu’s portfolio of award-winning games, and we look forward to the continued success it will bring to the action category.”

“Glu has solid studio capabilities and carrier relationships around the world, and is well-positioned to continue to bring the Call of Duty experience to mobile consumers,” said Dave Anderson, senior director of business development at Activision.

Glu was also responsible for bringing a version of Modern Warfare to mobiles.
