PS3 firmware 2.41 rumored for this week
BY Jeremy Hill Jul. 7th, 2008 More on:

One week ago we saw the best and worst case scenario for the PS3 play out in less than 24 hours. After getting a lot of feedback from console owners complaining that the in-game XMB and Trophy support bringing firmware 2.40 effectively froze their systems, Sony pulled it from their servers. They promised a “fix” soon, but did not give any specifics as to how it would work or when it would come.

A call to Sony’s customer support has now given more details on the matter. Apparently, firmware 2.41 will correct any and all problems that derived from last week’s massive blunder, and has been given a release window for “midweek,” so lets go with Wednesday on that one.
