Music in Games / FaceBreaker and From First To Last

So let’s get the ball rolling here with Music in Games’ first band, From First to Last — who are currently performing on the Warped tour — and a chance to not only win some signed albums but also a copy of FaceBreaker for the Wii and 360.

The band’s new single, “Worlds Away” (video above), off their new self-titled album is going to be featured in EA Sports’ upcoming boxing game FaceBreaker, and that brings us to interviewing them or, in the light of this month’s contest, brings you to interviewing them. We want questions for the band and those questions can net you a copy of the game for the Wii and Xbox 360 or if you prefer, a signed copy of their album. Interested? Of course you are, who doesn’t like free games and music? Just follow these easy steps:

1. Go to our freshly opened Community Discussions area and sign up to be part of the community.
2. Head over to the stickied “Ask a question, break a face!” discussion.
3. Submit your question.
4. Win! (Note: step four not for everyone, only winners)

Done and done? Good, we’ll have the band choose their favorite questions and the winners will receive the prize of their choice. Easy as pie. Entries are due by July 20th, and we’ll have the full interview up, along with contest results, later this month. Be sure to read more about the band below, and get those questions in for your chance to win big! After that we’ll see you next month with another band or performer featured in another game with another great prize.

About From First to Last. Los Angeles-based From First to Last was founded by guitarists Matt Good and Travis Richter in 2002 when the two had bands that played together in Florida. A revolving line-up with post-hardcore punk and metal influences was documented on their 2003 EP Aesthetic, as well as their 2004 Epitaph debut Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Body Count, which saw the addition of singer Sonny Moore and drummer Derek Bloom. Producer Ross Robinson (Korn, The Cure) and ex-Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland joined the band for 2006’s Heroine, which made Kerrang! Magazine‘s Top 20 Albums of 2006.

Recently signed to Suretone Records, From First to Last is currently prepping their first release for the label with veteran producer Josh Abraham, who has logged time behind the boards with superstars Velvet Revolver, Linkin Park, Slayer and many more. With mixing duties handled by Brendan O’Brien (Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine), the album is set for release early next year. The band recently returned to their Aesthetic-era core with co-founding From First to Last guitarist Matt Good stepping up to handle lead vocals and co-founder/guitarist Travis Richter and new permanent member/bassist Matt Manning handling additional vocals. Drummer Derek Bloom remains behind the skins.
