When Iwata took the stage at today’s Nintendo E3 press conference, you just knew he was going to drop a bomb. Well here it is. Iwata relinquished the stage to a video clip introducing Animal Crossing City Folk. City Folk appears to work much like the DS version. The key differences are some new friend integration items such as sending pictures. You can also modify your animal crossing character to look just like your Mii.

Another item that was announced along with this is the new WiiSpeak peripheral. It acts like a full-room speakerphone which allows your room full of players to interact with another group of players anywhere in the world. Animal Crossing City Folk and the WiiSpeak peripheral will land on store shelves by the end of the year.
